A MAN and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after reports of a disturbance at a house.
Police in St Helens confirmed to the Star they took two people into custody following an incident in Haydock on Wednesday, May 1.
At about 1.30am, officers attended an address following reports of a disturbance.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of ill treatment, neglect or abandonment of a child or young person to cause unnecessary suffering or injury, being drunk and disorderly in a public place and using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour to cause harassment/alarm/distress.
A 35-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of ill treatment, neglect or abandonment of a child or young person to cause unnecessary suffering or injury.
They have both been conditionally bailed.
A police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing into the incident and safeguarding measures have been put in place."
