ALTHOUGH the complaints about heavy lorries racing through Clock Face have been largely ignored by the powers that be, they are still coming through the village at 20 minute intervals.
The ones heading south to somewhere near Widnes are full of stinking rubbish.
The ones heading into St Helens are destined to collect the stinking rubbish.
The appropriate contact at St Helens Council was told by the owner of the transport company in question that it didn’t have vehicles operating in St Helens, even though the company name is clearly stated on every one that passes.
Our local councillors have completely ignored the problem.
It is clear that these big, smelly vehicles would be better using the ring road instead of charging through a busy village where it is increasingly perilous to cross at the best of times.
Why can’t something be done?
Ernie Bate, Clock Face
