Pilkington under 23s 4 St Helens Town 0.
A youthful Pilks side featuring several ex Town under 18s players in it's ranks ran out worthy winners in the sunshine at Ruskin Drive.
Star of the show was Pilks striker and goalscorer Garbutt who showed a physical presence and composure on the ball beyond his years.
Best for Town was Kyle Rugg who did his best to keep Town in the game.
Town are back in action against Stretford Paddock at Ruskin Saturday 26th. Kick off time TBC.
Meanwhile, Town’s U23s game away to Claybrow FC was unfortunately abandoned due to the Town keeper, Joe White, breaking his leg in an unfortunate coming together just before halftime.
With the young Town team 2-1 up the game was abandoned
