SAINTS’ battle to make the inaugural top four play offs intensified with their loss to Huddersfield last night.

Although they are now fourth, they are now looking over their shoulders.

All is not lost yet, but the campaign is slipping away week by week.

Leeds are on 37 points, Wigan on 33 with tonight to play, Huddersfield on 32 ahead of Saints on points difference.

Castleford are on 30 with a game in hand but an inferior points difference.

Assuming Leeds and Wigan looking secure, particularly if the Warriors win tonight, the battle for the last two spots appears to be a shoot-out between Saints, Castleford and Huddersfield.

Saints face two tough aways next, with a journey to leaders Leeds on September 4, followed by the Tigers clash at the Jungle on September 10.

Saints wrap up their Super 8s campaign with home derby matches against Wigan and Warrington.

Huddersfield have three home games remaining, entertaining Castleford in their next fixture.

Clashes against Warrington at home and then Hull FC away follow with the Giants wrapping up their season at home to Leeds.

Castleford face a run in that is as tough as Saints' last games.

They travel to Catalans tomorrow and in the following fixture they visit Huddersfield.

The red letter day now becomes their home game against Saints on 10 September but their Super 8s campaign is rounded off with two away games at Leeds and then Wigan.

Saints' destiny is still in their own hands but from now on in they have to match Castleford's results or better Huddersfield's to keep it that way.
