CHAMPIONS Saints begin the defence of their Super League title with a home tie against Catalans Dragons.

Their first away game is the following Thursday at Salford.

This year's Good Friday game is at the DW Stadium, with last year's reversion to derby Easter doubles abandoned with Saints hosting Hull FC on Easter Monday.

Saints have been handed a tough turnaround ahead of their clash with Warrington on March 19 - the game coming four days after their trip to Widnes.

The sponsors will be getting good value out of the champions, with seven out of their first eight games televised.

The season splits after 23 rounds with the top eight playing other in the final seven rounds.

The play-offs are then settled on a simple 1 v 4, 2 v 3 basis with the semi winners playing at Old Trafford.
