PERSONAL memories, good and bad, are being sought by an ex-pupil and governor of Grange Park School whose doors finally clang together after seventy years service to the kids of the area.

Eric Lawton, sadly a Parkinsons disease sufferer at 47, is the man behind the idea . “This is a sad day indeed , not just for the area, but for former pupils and staff of a wonderful school.”

And Eric is planning a bumper celebration, due later this year, called All Things Grange Park. “I intend holding a reunion party for ex-pupils and staff from all eras of the school history,” he tells me.

He was hoping that many former pupils and staff could come in before the final closure of the doors, and he’s currently seeking memories of those who attended the school from 1938 and up to recently.

“I would especially like any personal films and so on that may be lying around,” says Eric, “so please search through your cupboards and lofts for any reels of tape, videos and photographs.”

The material could include school trips or holidays and the like.

Any items can be collected (video or cine) and will be returned after copying. “The more material I receive,” says Eric, “the bigger the brochure and presentation will be.”
