ANY old scholars who appeared in the flashback photo of Holy Trinity School, Parr Mount (this page, August 28) are invited to get in touch with a friend from far away.
Lorraine Bell (nee Cunliffe) now living in New Zealand with her two daughters and family, was among the first to respond to my plea for names of the schoolkids featured on the old pic.
She writes from more than 11,000 miles away: “I’m seated centre of the middle row.” Lorraine also recognises Billy Maitland, John Potter, John Prescott and Alan Greenall in the top row; while others in the middle row were the Cheshire girl twins - not identical and born 24 hours apart! - plus May Lyons and Jean Roberts.
Bottom row she spotted John Swift (not John Barton, but Lorraine will stand corrected).
