A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was stabbed in the side in the early hours of Thursday, according to reports.

The teenager was found injured outside a house on Manchester Road in Prescot at around 3am.

Police, who arrived at the scene shortly afterwards, are appealing for information and say a number of people on bikes were seen leaving the area shortly afterwards.

The boy was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a "stable condition".

In a statement, Detective Inspector Christian Vaughan, of Merseyside Police, said: “Enquiries are currently being carried out around the Manchester Road area.

“We have had reported sightings of several males who were seen on pedal cycles close to where the assault took place and who were seen to leave the area shortly afterwards.

“I would appeal to any delivery drivers, taxis or members of the public who were driving in the area and heard or saw anything suspicious, or believes they captured something on their dash cam, to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
