MOTORISTS are being warned of disruption on a major route through St Helens town centre while gas works take place.
Cadent is carrying out works on Duke Street, St Helens. These are expected to last several weeks.
Temporary traffic lights are in place along a stretch of the road, which is a key route in and out of the town centre.
Drivers have reported that extensive areas of the road are dug up and that disruption has been compounded by some motorists parking up on double yellow lines.
The works began on Monday and are scheduled to run until April 19.
