JOHNNY Vegas' Carry on Glamping series two sees the comedian starting from scratch in finding land on a journey he says helped him "learn more about" himself.

Thatto Heath's Vegas, 51, opened his glamping site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales after two years of work, during which he and his assistant Bev Dixon overcame a series of setbacks.

Channel 4 is set to air another series of Johnny Vegas: Carry on Glamping, which will follow Johnny and Bevas they navigate the challenges of expanding the site and developing the business from tomorrow, Wednesday, January 24.

Speaking to the Star, he shared what viewers can expect this season, and why it has taken so long to get the second season out.

The dad-of-two said: “ I had to find new land again, so the search started afresh and I was a lot more mindful this time of not just falling in love on the site of each new place.

"This is a real business, and it needs to make money, yes it’s being filmed for a TV show but the realities of making a business work and my crazy ideas has been a challenge this time and that’s on the show.

"Since the last season I’ve had my ADHD diagnosis and I’ve also had to come to terms with the loss of my mum so quite honestly mid-season we had to stop for my mental health.

"I wanted that kept in though, because it’s so important to show that ‘it is ok to not be ok’ and I took some time and then came back, and I was still as crazy with my ideas but in the right frame of mind.

"The realities of running a glamping site is hard work and I couldn’t do anything at all without Bev, I drive her mad I know that and we even argued getting this all together which we rarely do but none of this would happen without her.

"There are some ‘only Johnny’ moments in there this time, much like when Patricia [the Maltese bus Johnny purchased and did up the first season and named after his mum] nearly crashed into the barn, this time I nearly destroyed an 11th century church and a cottage with a helicopter. It was an oh my god moment.

“Oh and I hosted a Star Wars-themed wedding too and we did up a helicopter and a boat.

“Basically, every mad idea I’ve had went ahead and it’s crazy and wonderful and unbelievable we managed to do it and I can’t wait for everyone to watch it.

“At the end of the day this site is for everyone to enjoy, seeing my sons there enjoying the different vehicles has been amazing, I hope people will visit and enjoy the show, the process has certainly helped me learn more about myself.”

Johnny Vegas: Carry on Glamping will air on Wednesday, January 24 at 9pm on Channel 4.
