A MUM-OF-THREE who set up her business during Covid to cope with her grief says she is proud after Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has become a customer.

Lauren Smith from Carr Mill set up Somethingsparkle in 2020 following the death of her auntie who inspired her to ‘follow her dreams’.

The 23-year-old said: “I set up my business during Covid 19 pandemic due to getting made redundant when I was pregnant with my little girl then no one would employ me because I was pregnant.

St Helens Star:

“Then I lost my auntie who told me to follow my dreams but instead I followed hers and I carried on what she loved doing which was crafting and she was so talented.

“I used all the things she left behind to create Somethingsparkle making gifts for others to help them cope with their grief and it helps heal my heart knowing I’m doing something good and putting smiles on faces that have experienced loss.

“I’m just a young mum so when I got a big order from Charlotte Crosby who wanted items to remember her Nana Jean this Christmas it made me very proud that I could do this for her.

St Helens Star:

“Hearing my family say my auntie would be so proud of me means so much and that just doing something I’ve always loved doing since being little is actually working out for me.

“ The support I’ve had from everyone not just Charlotte makes me so happy, and I thank every single one of my customers for just one simple share, because this is what is putting food on our dinner table.”
