A TALENTED group of young dancers have recently qualified for the United Dance Organisation (UDO) World Championships.

Watch This Space dance company, based at the parish hall in the town centre, have had a multitude of successes with their Contemporary and Street-Dance teams over the last year, taking part in nine different competitions, now standing with 16 first places under their belt.

Their street-dance crews continue to go from strength to strength, bringing home top placings for every one of the dance crews from Under 12's through to Over 18's.

Between the last two competitions they have achieved a multitude of first places, three Elite trophies and even a judges special award Both their Blackout and Insanity crews competed last December in Blackpool against the best the North West has to offer, and gained their qualifications for the World Street-dance Championships this August; where they will compete against crews from around 30 countries.

Principal dance teachers, Andrea Wade and Tracey Claire said: “We are so incredibly proud of the students, they have bounced back from a two-year break with Covid and have become stronger as a group.

“The talent is off the scale, and no matter how hard we push them they continue to amaze us. The energy and performance all teams put in is more than we could ever have hoped for. They really are an incredible group of young dancers."

They continue training and have more competing events in the coming weeks, working up to the World Championships taking place at the end of August this year.
