A COMMUNITY hub is offering a weekly exercise session to enourage locals to stay healthy.

Wagrave Big Local, located on Alder Street, regularly offers classes and activities for the community, with its HubFit class the latest addition.

The sessions are hoped to promote exercise and encourage locals to keep fit in a social setting.

Graham Ellis, Wargrave Big Local Hub representative, said: "Our HubFit class is a supportive safe space for all abilities to work with our amazing Personal Trainer Gemma Aldcroft.

"At HubFit you will learn how to use your own bodyweight to exercise, understand your musculature, feel stronger and have better core stability and generally feel more energised and motivated.

"Join Team HubFit and get strong."

Gemma focuses on emotional muscle and explained the importance of exercise for perimenopause symptoms during Menopause Awareness month in October.

The personal trainer said: "Strength training hasn't made my perimenopause symptoms go away, but it has helped me feel more in control, more body confident and reminds me, to use a phrase a perimenopausal friend of mine used recently, that "ageing doesn't have to mean decay."

"So come on ladies, let's show menopause who's boss."

The classes have already received positive feedback from participants with locals Hilary and Jean both appreciating the benefits of the sessions.

Hilary said: "Thanks to Gemma I am probably the fittest I have ever been in my life."

Jean added: "I've had the most amazing journey with you Gemma; my strength and fitness is 100% improved and my balance is so much better too."

The sessions run every Tuesday 6:30-7:30pm and is £4 per person.
