THE Rugby Football League is keen to support the return of community rugby league in the autumn.
However, due to insufficient time, they say competitions will not take place once full contact rugby league is allowed to return.
Instead, the focus is on supporting clubs in arranging localised friendly fixtures when Government approval is given.
The RFL’s Return of Community Rugby League Action Plan will receive Government sign off imminently.
The phased plan outlines the return of non-contact Rugby League – including social formats like Try Tag Rugby League.
This phase will be followed, when Government permit, by full contact Rugby League with modifications including the removal of scrums.
The 2020 National Conference League season was scrapped back in April.
