KEEN amateur sleuths can put their crime-solving skills to the test for a night of murder mystery next month.

Inglenook Farm in Rainford is to host an atmospheric night of intrigue with its grizzly Halloween-themed murder mystery night.

People can put themselves in the shoes of detectives, watching the scene unfold before their eyes and then use deduction and reasoning to crack the case trying to find out not just who did it, but how and why.

To solve the murder people must question suspects, interrogate witnesses and take in all the clues they can to solve the case.

With a huge emphasis on fun and laughter, with professional actors in all roles, it promises to be evening to remember.

"It's a bit like Cluedo and it is always good fun," said Inglenook director Barbara Cobain.

"The nights are a really good atmosphere and it's £35 including a three-course meal and a drink, it's all good fun."

And there is plenty going on at Inglenook with its monthly farmers market making a return on Sunday, October 9 before a 1940s war-themed event in November 13.

"There's usually between 50 and 60 stalls and we have quite an array from Thai to Indian to British cheeses," added Barbara.

"November is going to be quite a big event and there'll be a 40s track singer and everyone will be dressed in uniform and we're going to have a display of army things."

The murder mystery night takes place on Friday, October 21 from 7.30pm and is £35 per person. See inglenook-farm.co.uk for more.
