FIRE crews were called to attend to a kitchen fire at a home in Sutton Heath.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service received a report at around 8.30pm on Wednesday evening (July 27).

Two fire engines attended the house on Stevenage Close, from Parr Stocks station and Eccleston station.

Crews found the fire to be out on arrival and ventilated the property.

They carried out a Home Fire Safety Check and fitted three new smoke alarms.

No-one was injured during the incident.

A pan of food and a cooker hood were severely damaged by fire.

The kitchen was moderately damaged by smoke and the remainder of the property sustained slight smoke damage.

Crews remained at the scene for around 15 minutes.
