INDIE rockers Stillia enjoyed a great week after their latest single Sometimes was aired on BBC Introducing Merseyside.

The band, who have a large following in their hometown, are building momentum outside the borough and have dates booked at a series of summer music festivals.

But after spending time in the studio they are keen to get their sound out to a new audience.

The lads Jack Bennett (lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter), Connor Moran (lead guitarist, harmonies vocals) Johnny Waring (bass guitarist, harmonies vocals) and Matty Bennett (drummer) said on their Facebook page: "We are all buzzing.

"Our single 'sometimes' has just been played on BBC Introducing Merseyside. Cheers to Dave Monks for playing it and to everyone that has listened and bought the track.

"Time for a beer to celebrate."

The group has won plaudits for combining an attitude and raw sound that delights fans and their performance at the Westfield Street Music Festival was widely praised.

Speaking to the Star, lead singer Jack Bennett said: "Things are going well for us and we are playing quite a lot of festivals. We've also been recording quite a few new tracks and we can't wait for people to hear it over the next few months.

"We are just weighing up whether to release them as EPs or as singles.

"One of the biggest festivals is Blackthorn in July in Stockport, which has bands such as Maximo Park on the bill."

The band record and produce their material with Sugar House Music and have praised their manager Paul Moran for keeping them on track for success.

Jack said: "We wouldn't be playing these festivals without Paul, who is driving us on. We are four young lads and when we go to a gig and someone is dropping us a box of beer in our room, he's the one saying 'hang on your on stage in a minute.

"He keeps us controlled and working hard."
