AFTER a successful trial of table service in the Church Street McDonald's restaurant, the roll-out is extending to the chain's Linkway branch.

Table service is also expected to be brought in at the Chalon Way branch later in the year.

McDonald's area manager Josh Morris - who oversees seven restaurants, including the one on St Helens Linkway - said table service will make the ordering process easier for parents.

He said: "I am really excited to announce the launch of table service in the restaurant. All of the new features have been introduced so that we can meet our customers evolving needs and table service is a great example of that.

"We know that for parents, it can sometimes be a stressful experience ordering at the till and carrying food while keeping an eye on children, so table service enables customers to order at the self-order kiosk and then sit down at a designated zone to be served their food."

Recent changes in front of and behind the counter at the fast food giant also include self-order kiosks for customers and new layouts and increased technology in the kitchens.

Paul Pomroy, CEO, McDonald's UK, said: "Our converted restaurants like this one in St Helens will deliver a fast and easy experience, aided by digital and traditional ordering points, ensuring we continue to be enjoyed.”

If current trials prove successful coming innovations could include the option for diners to customise their burgers, play interactive table-tops games and charge their smartphones using wireless devices.
