TEENAGER Bethany Cammack has won a place in the next round of a new beauty pageant.

Bethany, a model and make-up artist from Hard Lane in St Helens, has beaten off competition from across the UK to be named as one of the finalists in the UK Power Pageant.

Bethany, who won the title of Miss Merseyside International, will take part in the UK Power Pageant - which will see eight national beauty queens being crowned - in July at Park Hall Hotel in Lancashire

Bethany recently completed a swimathon in aid of the Power Pageants chosen charity, The Christie.

At the finals, Bethany will take part in two days of activities including a Beauty Queen Bootcamp, a British Afternoon Tea, a PJ Party, photoshoots and the grand final itself.

Director of the competition Holly Pirrie said: "I am thrilled to have Bethany as one of our finalists. We are looking forward to meeting all of the contestants in July."

Eight winners will go through to the final and compete against women from all over the world in the hope of winning an international crown.

Bethany, a former student of St Helens College and Cowley College, helped launch a campaign to beat cyber bullies when she was at school.
