ARTY children are being invited once again to showcase their creative talents in an annual competition with the chance to have works displayed at the World of Glass.
Youngsters aged up to 16 who live or study in St Helens can submit works to the Youth Open Art Competition in a range of forms including paintings, glass, textiles, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, photography and digital media.
There will be separate categories for: nursery and reception, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and one encompassing secondary photography, graphic art and digital media.
St Helens Council’s arts service is holding the contest in partnership with St Augustine’s Catholic High School.
Winners will secure exhibition space at the Godfrey Pilkington Art Gallery, in the World of Glass with prizes to be awarded to the winner of each category, to be announced on March 30.
Exhibition space at the Godfrey Pilkington art gallery will be available for the winning entries from June.
Submission dates are open from Monday, February 29 until Friday, March 4 at St.Augustine of Canterbury Catholic High School.
No late entries will be accepted. Entry forms are available to download from www.sthelens.gov.uk/openart or collect from a school or local library.
