FEARS someone had been knocked down in a traffic accident in Eccleston yesterday (Sunday, February 7) were put to rest as the ambulance service confirmed they had been called out to tend to someone who had suffered a seizure.
A man was taken ill outside Millfields fire station, near to the junction of Millfields and Knowsley Road, at around 12.45pm.
A small crowd of people gathered around while awaiting the arrival of ambulance services.
A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said: "A man had a fit. There was no report of a car accident.
"We sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance, and the man was taken to Whiston Hospital."
