ST HELENS CAMRA has shortlisted six pubs in the running to be crowned 2016's Pub Of The Year.

This year has seen the largest shortlisting survey the branch has ever had with more than 2,900 beer scores from more members than ever before.

Now a list of top six boozers, which has been scored by five or more members, has been shortlisted.

2015 winners The Cricketers Arms are in the running to defend the title, while last year's nominees The Brown Edge, in Nutgrove and town centre pubs The Phoenix Inn and the Turks Head are also included.

The six in the running are:

-Brown Edge, Nutgrove Road

-Cricketers Arms, Peter Street

-News Room, Duke Street

-Phoenix Inn, Canal Street

-Sefton Arms, Ormskirk Street

-Turks Head, Morley Street

Voting is limited to members of St Helens CAMRA only and forms can be downloaded on www.sthelenscamra.org.uk.
