Full details of the initiative are yet to be disclosed but it is understood the scheme will encourage people to recycle more often and that information packs will be delivered to residents soon.
A council spokesman said: “The council will be launching a scheme later this month that rewards residents, charities and communities for their recycling efforts" and "will encourage more people to recycle more often".
The statement added: “Rewards will also be available linked with our local retailers. More details will be announced soon. Make sure you don’t miss out on the rewards – and look out for our information pack, delivered to your door soon.”
