THERE are some big reasons to draw you into the World of Glass this autumn.

It is all down to the latest exhibition, which features some drawings created digitally, others that use charcoal and graphic and even one done on corrugated cardboard.

And these aren't tiny sketches, hence why it's called the Big Draw.

In fact three drawings stand more than six foot high!

“We wanted to show that drawings don’t need to be simply pen or ink on paper,“ explains Ron Helsby, Executive Director of The World of Glass.

“We saw the exhibition as a great opportunity to explore how artists perceive the art of drawing.

“I think visitors will find it fascinating to discover just how creative and inventive some of these artists can be using a wide variety of media.”

Among the highlights are a portrait of the late actor Oliver Reed by Peter Humphreys and a study of Johnny Vegas, made up of 30,000 nails, by David Foster.

The St Helens artist known as Drunk Wolf, is also showcasing one of his striking images.

The exhibition at The World of Glass is part of the world's biggest drawing festival aimed at anyone who loves to draw, as well as those who think they can't.

Last year’s Big Draw involved twenty-six countries, with 414,000 people attending more than 1800 events.

The international celebration has grown from one day in October 2000 in the UK to an annual month-long festival of drawing across the world.

The Big Draw runs in Gallery One at The World of Glass until Friday, November 13.
