ROWDY comedy The Ale House is running at The Theatre Royal until Saturday.
Cast members were on Tuesday afternoon running through the final dress rehearsal.
Taking a break, actor Philip Olivier, best known for his roles in Brookside and Benidorm, said: "The play hasn't been staged for around eight years and the script has dated a little, so we've been working on it as we went along, bringing some of the lines up to date.
"We've been rehearsing for a week and I'd really urge people to come along - it's brilliant."
The play also stars Lindzi Germain as the brassy landlady who takes no messing, George Wilson as edgy regular Kick Off and Jake Abrahams as "nutcase" Trevor.
Shows start at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
For tickets - costing £20, £18 for concessions or £15 matinee - visit the box office in Corporation Street, call 756000 or go to sthelenstheatreroyal.com.
