AFTER taking part in sinew straining cycles rides, marathons and even car washes work colleagues at one of St Helens oldest firms raised £10,000 for Willowbrook.
Staff at Ena Shaw, which is based in the town centre, took part in a number of events, including a bike ride from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise money for the charity which is currently renovating Alexandra House on Prescot Road in to a wellness centre.
Willowbrook has also has recently been honoured with the distinguished Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest recognition a voluntary group can receive.
Richard Potter managing director at Ena Shaw said: "It's been our pleasure to help support Willowbrook Hospice. Being part of the local community is key to us and we're delighted to help Willowbrook expand its care services with the development of its new wellness centre."
Senior fundraiser at Willowbrook Diane Humphries added: "This huge donation will make a great contribution to the work we do at Willowbrook. We rely heavily on the donations we receive and we're delighted that Ena Shaw shares our vision to increase access to end of life care within the community we live in."
