CHILDREN'S TV favourite Andy Day is heading to the town centre as part of a spectacular Dino Day in Church Square.

Organiser believe the CBeebies character will prove a huge hit with youngsters next month.

He features in Andy’s Dinosaur Adventures, a television series centres around Andy Day, a museum worker with a passion for dinosaurs.

Dino Day will also feature dinosaur street entertainment, including Reggie the Raptor a 7ft high and 12ft long Utah Raptor and two stilt walking Dino Riders that will be roaming around the town centre.

The event will take place in the town centre on Saturday, June 6 (11am – 4pm). Andy will be performing two free 45-minute children’s shows at noon and 2pm ahead of a meet and greet at 3.30pm.

The dinosaur themed day launches a summer season of borough wide events throughout the borough including: Westfield Street Music Festival (Sunday, June 7); Earlestown Classic Car Show (Saturday, June 20); Steve Prescott Foundation Crown Bowls Charity Challenge at Ruskin Leisure (Sunday, June 21); Summer Beach in Church Square (Thursday, July 23 – Saturday, August 29); Newton Town Show (Saturday, August 1) and the town centre street entertainment festival Summer Streets (Friday August 7 and Saturday,

August 8).
