A MAN has been taken to hospital via air ambulance after his car was in collision with a lamppost close to a school.
Emergency services were called to Carr Mill Road, Billinge close to Chapel End School just before 4.30pm on Tuesday (May 19). They found the driver of a silver grey Nissan was conscious and breathing.
At this stage the extent of his injuries are not known. There are no reports that anyone else was hurt in the incident.
A stretch of Carr Mill Road remains closed.
