THE big beaming smiles on their wedding day shone once again as this diamond couple celebrated their milestone anniversary surrounded by family and friends.
Many a glass was raised to Margaret and Clifford Bibby, who are both 80 and live in Haydock, who toasted their 60th anniversary at the Black Bull on Knowsley Road.
Their only son Stephen, 57, explained: "Mum was from Blackbrook and dad was originally from Thatto Heath. After a spell in the RAF he became a fitter at BICC and mum worked in the post office on Blackbrook Road in the 1960s and 70s and then in a nearby greengrocers."
Attempting to sum up the secret of their long marriage Stephen said: "They have both been very much in love for many years and I think it's just down to the fact that they have always got on. They are both lovely characters who get on with everybody.
"I think the secret is they complement each other but if my dad does anything wrong my mum is quick to tell him," he joked.
