WAR hero Andy Reid will give an inspirational talk at a war-themed dinner organised by a St Helens student.

Ashley Jane Atherton, from Eccleston, is an Events Management student at John Moores University, in Liverpool and, along with three of her fellow students, Gemma Jacobs, Hannah Roscoe and Abbey Lennon has arranged the event at the Radisson Blu Hotel, in Liverpool on Wednesday, April 15.

Ashley has helped organise the night as part of her Staging Event module.

The evening, which will see a 1940s war-themed dinner, will raise money for the ABF: The Soldiers’ Charity.

On the night Andy, a triple-amputee and Afghanistan war veteran, will give a talk ‘Standing Tall’. This will cover his story and why he joined the forces and explain how he got injured and then what he did to get his life back on track. Also, 1940s St Helens singer Heather Marie will perform big band jazz music.

There will also be a raffle with tickets available on the night.
