TWO thousands runners will line up for the GPW Recruitment St Helens 10k, making it the biggest field in the event’s five year history.

To help motivate the runners and spectators this year there will be live music along the route including musicians from Jamm Studios performing at the finish line, while Victoria Park will see Parr Brass Band and local band The Patriots keep people entertained.

Pride of St Helens Young Musician of the Year winner Aimee Critchley will be singing in Church Square and The Central will be performing under the North Stand afterwards Runners are asked to be at Langtree Park’s North Stand for no later than 9am for a 9.30am start and should position themselves in the time area they are expected to finish.

Times will be recorded as soon as participants step on the start line and cross the tape for the finish inside Langtree Park.

There will be a water station on North Road where St John’s Ambulance will also be stationed.

Family and friends of those taking part are encouraged to pack out Langtree Park’s 5,000 capacity North Stand and help generate an electric atmosphere.

All car parks operated by St Helens Council will be free on the day. There will be no parking for the general public at Langtree Park on the morning of the race.
