A 13-YEAR-OLD found dead in a park in Whiston will be "remembered for the lovely smile that he always had", says his head teacher.

The body of Terry Hall was found in Whiston.

Police were called to Stadt Moer Park after a call from a member of the public.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Head of Knowsley Park Centre for Learning, Judy Walker, said: "Terry was an extremely popular boy who was always happy and cheerful.

"He was always keen to learn and particularly loved general knowledge and memorising interesting facts. He'll certainly be remembered for the lovely smile that he always had.

"Everyone at the school is devastated at this tragic loss of a young boy who was so full of fun and had so much potential."

Pupils are being supported by specially trained staff and a Book of Remembrance has been opened for them to share their thoughts and memories of the teenager.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "At this time there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

"Officers are working with the coroner to establish the full circumstances of the boy's death."

POLICE have released the name of a 13-year-old boy whose body was found in a Whiston park.

Terry Hall was found dead on Thursday afternoon at Stadt Moers Park by a passer-by. 

Emergency crews were called by the member of the public to the scene at about 1pm, according to reports.

Police attended and found the body of the boy. His death is being treated as "unexplained".

Terry attended Knowsley Park School for Learning, who have today paid tribute to him with his head teacher saying he will be "remembered for the smile he always had."

A statement issued by police last night read: "Merseyside Police can confirm a deceased teenager was found in a park in Whiston this afternoon (Thursday, 29 January).

"At approximately 1pm a member of the public reported finding the teenager in Stadt Moer Park.

"Police attended and found the 13-year-old boy who was declared dead at the scene.

"His next of kin are in the process of being informed.

"At this time there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

"Officers are working with the coroner to establish the full circumstances of the boy’s death."
