Man denies murdering pensioner
A MAN has appeared in court charged with murdering a pensioner more than a year ago.
In a hearing at Liverpool Crown Court Anthony Hallard, 19, pleaded not guilty to the murder of David Walter Rimmer whose body was found at a ground floor flat on Borough Road on Croppers Hill last September.
Police discovered the body of 69-year-old Mr Rimmer at the flat. A post mortem examination found the cause of death was a head injury. Charges were brought against Hallard in September.
Hallard, of Rainhill Road, who is at the Scott Clinic, Rainhill, was further remanded in custody to await his trial beginning on February 16.
