AROUND 50 people have been evacuated from properties close to a gas leak in the Bowling Green pub in Sutton.
An area between Robina Road, Massey Street and Marina Avenue in Sutton has been cleared while engineers try to fix the leak.
Two fire engines from St Helens and Eccleston are currently at the scene.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area as Robins Lane is expected to be closed for most of the afternoon.
