FOLLOWING the success of the first event, two more open days have been scheduled for relatives of St Helens Recs players to come forward.

Held by Saints historian Alex Service, the open days offer relatives of former Recs players between 1919 and 1939 to attend.

Alex will offer a certificate relating to the player's personal achievements and with each one having a unique player number.

Any information people can offer about Recs players is also welcome.

More than 50 people turned up at the first event on Friday, September 12 at the Local History Library, in the Central Library building on Victoria Square.

And two more events are to be hosted at the same venue on Monday, September 29 and Wednesday, October 7 running from 10am to 7pm both days.

All information Alex collects will go towards a book of biographies with the working title They Bled Red, Amber and Black.
