AN ANIMAL lover who set up an annual fun day has ensured the event will continue to raise awareness.

Thirty-year-old Adam Fraser launched the first Taylor Park Family Fun day in aid of the RSPCA where he worked.

Since then the event has continued to grow and became an annual event beyond Adam’s expectations.

As well as providing a fun day for the family it has helped raise money for the care of animals.

And, despite Adam having left the RSPCA, he is ensuring the annual occasion will continue to help animals after deciding to put the proceeds towards the Dog Trust Merseyside branch.

“It got started when I was with the RSPCA and they were going through hard times so I thought I’d set up a small family fun day to raise some money,” explains Adam, from Grange Park Road.

“I love animals and don’t like any animals being hurt and I also enjoy doing events so I thought I’d combine the two together.

“I can’t believe how much it’s grown and it takes such a long time to plan. It’s become a massive event.

“I didn’t want the event to stop and found another charity to raise money for.”

The day will last from 11am to 4.30pm on Sunday, September 28 for what is the show’s seventh staging.

There will be over 50 stalls at the park on the day with entertainment including fun fair, bouncy castles, arts and craft stalls, food stalls, charity stalls, wax hand moulds, face painting, bar serving local beers, wines and ales, penalty shoot out, and the famous dog show and £1.50 per class prizes up for grabs.

In addition there will be Merseyside Police dogs and fire brigade, barbecue, donkey rides, dog health checks, nail clipping, and much more.

Adam is still looking for any assistance which can be offered in making sure this year’s event is a success, with donations such as tables, chairs, gazebos, stationery and dog show prizes welcome.

Also, crew catering for the staff, volunteers and stallholders or any other donations would also be welcome.
