POLICE have arrested and charged a man after an aggravated burglary in which a woman was allegedly threatened with a kitchen knife.
Lee Todd, 25, from Bag Lane, Atherton has been charged with robbery by Merseyside Police.
He was arrested in connection with a burglary that happened on Alder Street, Newton-le-Willows on Monday, September 1. Officers were called to the property at around 8.25pm, following a report from a woman living there that two men had knocked on her front door.
One of the men forced his way into the house and allegedly used a kitchen knife to threaten the woman before demanding cash. Two mobile phones and a few cigarettes were taken.
Todd appeared before St Helens Magistrates' Court on Saturday (September 13) and has been remanded in custody.
