A YOUNG band will be launching their debut album in St Helens this weekend as a thank you to the fans who have made their previous gigs in the town such a success.

Jeramiah Ferrari will be performing at the official launch party for their self-titled album at The Zoo Bar, in Westfield Street, on Friday.

The live event will showcase some of the record's 12 tracks on the record, which are a varied mix of reggae, ska and pop.

Support on the night comes from London-based Feel Good Culture.

The band, which is made up of Ryan Barton, Hanson Pollitt, Joshua Aitchison and Stuart Welch, is hoping to emulate the success of their hit EP Dubby Rock, which reached number four in the iTunes reggae chart last year.

Band member Ryan said: “We’ve played in St Helens twice before and whenever we’ve performed it’s always been awesome as there have been loads of fans.

“It was a no-brainer really as to why we would hold the launch party here.

“Our support act, Feel Good Culture, have helped us with gigs down south and we wanted to repay the favour by asking them to join us tomorrow night.”

Following a tour of India and a string of sell-out gigs around the UK, the band are about to hit the road with the well-respected, roots legends UB40, Madness and The English Beat.

Next month will see the release of the music video and single, Burning Inferno, with the band due to start filming the video next week.

The Zoo Bar will be hosting live music every Friday until the first week in December.

The bar’s owner, Paul Griffiths, said: “We will have all types of live music from local bands to tribute acts.

"It’s always a great night.”
